Your New Role...

This role will be part of the COE of indirect tax compliance specialists. This offers the suitable candidate the opportunity to work within a multinational environment across several regional territories e.g. APAC, EMEA, North America and/or LATAM. In particular, the role will involve the following responsibilities.

Your Role Accountabilities…

  • Collating and downloading ERP data to prepare and support outsourced processes for the preparation of indirect tax returns.

  • Performing quality controls, approving, and paying indirect tax returns drafted by WBD’s Tax Co-Sourcing partner.

  • Ensuring that internal and statutory timelines for indirect tax filing and payments are adhered to.

  • Highlighting any potential indirect tax risks and/or opportunities identified through the indirect tax compliance process and performing defined actions to manage these opportunities and risks.

  • Reconciling and clearing indirect tax general ledgers and ensuring integrity and accuracy of those accounts for management/tax authorities.

  • Providing support in relation to queries/audits raised by tax authorities in the relevant territories.

  • Engaging with external auditors for the provision of documentation and resolving queries.

  • Identifying opportunities to optimize indirect tax compliance processes and controls and implementing process improvements.

  • Streamlining and updating policies, operating procedures and documentation as process changes occur.

  • Providing review support to territories in which the indirect tax return process is managed locally.

  • Coordinating and managing external advisors when required.

  • Supporting on functional requirements for ERP and boundary systems

  • Assisting in implementation of e-invoicing and digital reporting initiatives

  • Providing and maintaining indirect tax guidelines and training for internal stakeholders.

  • Supporting the business by onboarding new entities.

Qualifications & Experience…

  • Higher education (university degree) in finance, tax, accounting, economy or related.

  • 5+ years of experience within Indirect tax compliance across different tax jurisdictions.

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail within a rapidly changing environment.

  • Excellent English writing and speaking skills (European languages will be a plus) with the ability to present complex subject matters clearly and succinctly.

  • IT literate including knowledge of SAP or similar systems.

  • Shared Services Center/Center of Excellence experience is an additional asset.

  • Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships and clearly communicate issues and solutions to multiple stakeholders.

  • Level of supervision required: works independently as an expert. May manage projects/ processes within own area of expertise.

  • Hands-on, pro-active and taking initiative.

  • Problem solving: Uses own judgement based on existing procedures & policies to decide on appropriate action

  • Knowledge sharing/ developing others: may provide training to the other team members
