Your New Role :

As security engineer, ideal candidate is expected to:

  • Implement design reviews to evaluate security controls

  • Identify and communicate opportunities to enhance the security posture of WBD

  • Build and / or manage enterprise security platforms effectively

  • Communicate effectively across all levels of management to articulate WBD security goals and vision.

  • Have a team player mentality; strive to contribute to team cohesion however can work independently if the need arises

Your Role Accountabilities:

  • Plan, design, engineer and implement security-related technologies (30%)

  • Understanding technical security issues, their implications within WBD business units and able to effectively communicate them to management and other business leaders. (10%)

  • Configure, troubleshoot, and maintain security infrastructure – including software and hardware in cloud environments, as well as on-premises. (25%)

  • Conduct security audits and assessments to regularly determine the effectiveness of security platforms and identify areas of improvement. (10%)

  • Host and operating systems hardening, auditing, monitoring and logging with appropriate security controls and best practices while meeting security best practices and business goals (15%)

  • Research and explore emerging security technologies and determine their appropriate use within the company. (5%)

  • Prepare, document, and create standard operating procedures and protocols. Cross-train and mentor other team members as needed (5%)

Qualifications & Experiences:

  • Ability to work a hybrid model (3 days onsite) out of our Atlanta, DC, or Silver Spring office.

  • A minimum of 2+ years of hands-on experience in building, designing, and maintaining enterprise security tools

  • A minimum of 2+ years of hands-on experience in security engineering

  • 2+ years of successfully implementing advanced cyber security technology in a complex environment

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or other related discipline or 5+ years of previous technical security experience

  • Engineer and administer security platforms including SIEM/SOAR systems, endpoint detection and response, vulnerability management, and anomaly detection tools.

  • Hands on technical experience with networking and computing system architectures, specifically, the security aspects thereof.

  • Hands on technical experience with compliance and regulatory frameworks and how they affect architecture designs and reviews.

  • Experience in managing the Brinqa vulnerability management platform and experience with Groovy programming language is a plus.

  • Must have 5+ scripting experience (using Python or other equivalent languages)

  • Thorough understanding of information security principles, techniques, principles, policy frameworks, and best practices

  • Extensive Experience in public cloud infrastructures like AWS (AWS Preferred), GCP and Azure.

  • Experience with automation technologies (e.g., Ansible, etc.) and infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.

Not Required but preferred experience:

  • Security and Cloud certifications are a plus. (CISSP, etc.)

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery’s total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $65,030.00 - $120,770.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros. Discovery provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and sick time and vacation.
