Your New Role…

The role of the Director of Security, Eastern US & Canada is responsible for the oversight of WBD Security Operations in direct support of WBD business units located in the northeastern region of the US & eastern region of Canada. The Director will be responsible for the initial interaction with employees regarding physical security concerns. This position requires travel to conduct security assessments and may manage security operations during events. In addition, this position serves as the liaison with local and federal law enforcement agencies as well as other security professionals throughout the industry.

Your Role Accountabilities…

The Director focuses on assessments of existing and exigent security threats to employees and business operations at WBD locations. The Director may liaise directly with designated WBD Executives for those responsibilities affecting WBD locations.

The position will work in accordance with guidance provided by WBD Global Security and provide counsel of security policies and procedures to WBD business units for all security protocols and services that mitigate risks to employees, assets, and business operations.

  • Manage corporate security staff in the northeastern US and Canada

  • Conduct yearly performance reviews and provide feedback and coaching for WBD security personnel falling under the direction of the Director.

  • Develop and implement effective and sustainable security programs that mitigate risk to WBD employees, property, products, information, brands, and reputation against threats posed by crime, civil unrest, extremism/terrorism, armed conflict, and business espionage

  • Enhance program to identify, assess, prepare, and communicate relevant security awareness advice and guidance to employees in a timely and effective manner

  • Conduct awareness and/or security briefings as required concerning adverse events that may have an impact on business operations

  • Facilitate and ensure adequate support for WBD Security coverage for on-ground support for external high-risk or high-profile events and activities that require security supervision such as location shoots, red carpet events, and corporate functions

  • May conduct protective advances for WBD business, executives, and on-air talent to ensure security concerns are addressed and provide regular guidance on security matters

  • Evaluate, procure, and liaise with security vendors for client’s security support

  • In collaboration with the Global Security Intelligence & Investigations Team (GSII), oversee security-related investigations and provide support, feedback, and advice as required to support Internal Audit, Legal, and P&C-led investigations

  • Work in conjunction with Enterprise Business Resilience (EBR) teams to ensure contingency plans are implemented, tested, and reviewed as required

  • Responsible for emergency action plans to address identifiable emergencies at WBD locations within region

  • Ensure a timely and effective response to and management of incidents and events that have implications for the safety and security of regional employees and/or business operations

  • Develop, cultivate, and network with employees at all levels to gain insight and understanding of perceived gaps and vulnerabilities

  • Establish and maintain relationships with local, state, federal law enforcement, and emergency response personnel to facilitate strong partnerships to support security efforts

  • Ensure security incidents and reports are captured in the official system of record

  • Assist P&C and/or legal with internal terminations of employees and/or contractors

  • Ability to travel depending on the business needs

  • Performs other related duties as assigned or required

Qualifications & Experience...

  • Bachelors Degree

  • 10 Years Security Management Experience (risk-consulting, military, law enforcement, government intelligence services, executive protection)

  • Strong analytical, organization, and decision-making skills

  • Professional Stature and Strong Interpersonal Skills

  • Sound Judgment with ability to multi-task

  • Excellent Written and Communication Skills

  • Comprehensive and substantive knowledge of best security practices, principles, and objectives

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery’s total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $186,514.00 - $346,382.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros. Discovery provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and sick time and vacation.
