Your New Role…

The Director of Originals Marketing for Max and Magnolia Network is responsible for leading marketing campaigns for Magnolia Network, unscripted Max Originals, and kids & family programming that streams on Max. In addition to series marketing for streaming, this role represents a center-of-excellence for Magnolia Network on streaming and linear and works with other Magnolia business units external to the company.

Reporting to the VP, Originals Marketing, the Director will be responsible for overarching strategy development and creative marketing vision for Max Originals, Magnolia Network, and Kids & family programming. The Director will delegate tasks to team members (which include 2-3 managers) when receiving support on projects, assign briefing responsibilities, approve strategy, direct media teams across paid & owned channels, ensure campaign managers are up to speed on projects, serve as POC (Point of Contact) with programming, talent, showrunners, and XF internal teams.

Your Role Accountabilities…

  • The Director will manage strategic and creative brief creation and/or delegate to team members, internal teams or external agencies in developing 360 strategies and direction.

  • The Director will allocate budget appropriately to serve the creative needs, direct support team members and campaign management

  • The Director will work with the campaign management team to ensure all campaign deliverables are requested, delivered, and trafficked for a campaign.

  • Pursue partnership and co-marketing opportunities for show campaigns.

  • Lead 360 marketing strategy and creative on all Max Originals, including overseeing all creative marketing and strategic responsibilities (described above).

  • Oversee the Manager and Coordinator on unscripted originals marketing campaigns and key asset creation.

  • Plan activations, influencer campaigns, and/or other non-media marketing initiatives for series.

  • Work with Media relations, social, in-app merchandising, partnership, and media teams to ensure support for the show is appropriate with the medal and expectations.

  • For Magnolia Network, serve as the main point-of-contact for Magnolia Network linear operations, including linear promotional strategy, promo planning & scheduling, and driving tune-in

  • Manage strategic briefs for Magnolia Network priorities and include Magnolia Creative Director in process for any integrated briefs or creative steps.

  • Work with ops and Coordinator to create deliverables documents

  • Assist VP on managing the partnership with Sesame Workshop and determining strategy and creative support needs for the shows.

  • Partner with Cartoon Network on kids programming that airs on Max and Cartoon Network, focusing on promotional efforts to drive streaming and awareness on Max, social, email, partnerships, and other O&O platforms.

Qualifications & Experience…

  • 8-10 years of marketing experience, preferably in entertainment or a comparable storytelling field. Linear cable or broadcast experience is a plus.

  • 3-5 years of experience managing teams and developing talent.

  • Experience building marketing strategy for complex campaigns with multiple goals.

  • Ability to think portfolio-wide and beyond single project execution.

  • Experience working with in-house and external creative agencies, budgeting for creative, and managing creative resources.

  • Masterful at working in a highly matrixed environment with multiple stakeholders.

  • Committed to building and embodying a positive attitude and a team-first mentality.

  • Develops a positive culture that instills empathy and fosters diversity, equity, and inclusion.

  • A sincere love for streaming entertainment, television, movies and storytelling, and keeps a pulse on the latest entertainment headlines and culture.

  • Demonstrates an ability to provide successful/excellent executional support, with the ability to meet a high-bar of quality content creation.

  • Strong communication (written, verbal) and collaboration skills with colleagues and clients, taking the time to communicate effectively even when under pressure.

  • High level of integrity and discretion, with the ability to work with sensitive information.

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery’s total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $109,900.00 - $204,100.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros. Discovery provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and sick time and vacation.
