Your New Role...

Warner Bros Discovery is looking for a talented individual whose technical chops and problem-solving skills are matched only by their passion for building innovative software. This position is within Media Technology and Operations, in a team that builds software for Cartoon Network, HBO, TNT, Food Network, and more. Our goal is to simplify solutions for tough problems and help our stakeholders speed time to market. We come together as a team to build many customer-driven initiatives and go beyond a sole product or service.

We are hiring a Business Analyst to join our team. The preferred candidate has a background in Media and Technology and partnering with other internal teams to find ideal solutions related to media and workflow business problems. They can dig into the details but not lose sight of strategic company goals. They are a technical leader that people turn to when they need something new, or an inefficiency is identified. Our stakeholders need someone who can maintain empathy and gain a deep understanding of the request to be able to define the problem and context for a technical team to enable a comprehensive approach. The ideal candidate will have the capacity to make decisions for more than one functional area showing that their judgment is broad-based and logical, not technology, industry, or product specific.

Your Role Accountabilities...

  • Technical Expertise : Serve as technical expert on the product, understanding its architecture, functionality, and limitations. Provide guidance to the development team on technical issues and trade-offs.

  • Product Strategy and Vision : Leverage in-depth knowledge of media workflows to develop and define products and features. Maintain a balance between innovative and practical solutions.

  • Stakeholder Collaboration : Act as a liaison between stakeholders and development teams, ensuring product deliverables align with client expectations and address pertinent issues effectively.

  • Communication : Simplify complex technical details into clear, actionable insights to facilitate understanding and decision-making among non-technical stakeholders.

  • Project Leadership : Oversee product development cycles, ensuring detailed requirements are captured and communicated effectively to optimize product design and scheduling.

  • Agile Development : Engage actively in writing user stories and managing product backlogs, contributing to the teams’ agile development process.

  • Quality Control : Monitor and prioritize feature enhancements and bug fixes, collaborating closely with development teams to maintain high product standards.

Qualifications & Experiences...

  • Must be able to work a hybrid schedule (3 days onsite) out of our Atlanta office.

  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent work experience.

  • 5+ years in a business analysis, support, or technical analysis role directly related to media workflows, MAMs, Post, or media supply chain.

  • Experience working with development teams and being the interface to the customer/clients to relate status, solution, or internal escalation.

  • Hands-on expertise in disparate media technologies. At least a high-level understanding of transcoders, post environments, MAMs, DAMs, and media manufacturing workflows.

  • Knowledge of agile development practices and the ability to help build an intake pipeline for multiple development teams.

  • Experience in working closely with development teams to explain process, problem, or context to achieve the best outcome.

  • Willingness to be an escalation point for problem solving, escalation management, and basic troubleshooting beforehand off to a technical team.

  • Must have the legal right to work in the United States.
